What is Graphene ?

Graphene is a single layer of graphite known as the Wonder Material today and it is the building block of graphite. Graphene can be produced through chemical and/or physical exfoliation of graphite. Chemical exfoliation of graphite produces graphene oxide and reduced Graphene Oxide which are highly valuable materials.
Properties of Graphene Graphene has high thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, high elasticity and flexibility, generate electricity through exposure to sunlight, extraordinarily light weight and strong and is a transparent material.

Reduced Graphene Oxide (rGO)
Ragedera graphite mine produces rGO using two steps. Chemical exfoliation of graphite involves oxidation of graphite to produce graphite oxide and/or graphene oxide (GO) followed by Reduction of GO to produce graphene. The reduced product often is referred to as ‘Reduced Graphene Oxide (rGO)’ instead of ‘graphene’. Since rGO consists of a reduced oxygen content. rGO finds more or less similar applications as graphene.
